Sun Filled Vacations All Winter Long
As you drive home from work the sense that winter is on the way is a reality especially because the temperature is dropping everyday, but that does not mean that this is all the sun we will be seeing this year as there are some excellent sunshine destinations not to far from home including of course the Canarian island of Lanzarote, famous for its outstanding temperature..
Sun, sea and sand are not all that the island has to offer though, Lanzarote also features a distinctive and rich tapestry of local charisma and culture starting from the carnival season through to the sporting events later in the year. Also, as well as the myriad of events taking place, in the event of any dull or cloudy weather (which is a rarity), there are a huge number of other attraction to enjoy come rain, wind or shine.
If you are planning ahead for next year however do bear in mind that June is an excellent time to take your vacation as is can be considerably cheaper than the high season and this period is also when the fiesta of Corpus Christ takes place too. As you stroll round the streets you can witness temporary work of art depicting scenes from the bible. What makes these works of art and displays even more unique is the fact they are made using coloured salt.
With the summer hustle and bustle out of the way the autumn and winter seasons open up the choice of Lanzarote Holiday Villas, but choosing the right accommodation always comes down to three main factors, size of party, location and of course budget. Larger villas can be ideal if you are travelling as a group of friends or a couple of family groups, many of the villas are very well equipped by the owners as they are often used as summer homes, so standards are very high in the main. If you do find the ideal accommodation don’t wait too long before booking it as even in the winter they can be snapped up quite quickly
Lanzarote has a number of popular resorts so you will of course need to also decide which one is right for you? If friends or relatives have visited before then they may have made recommendations, but if not then you need to decide where to stay. Do you want to cater for your self or eat out most days ?. Not everything centres around the main resorts and a little searching on the internet will reward you by exposing some of the more rural locations available which are ideal for a romantic break. Airport transfers from lanzarote airport are not hard as well as affordable too which means this should’nt lead to any dramas.
Try Puerto del Carmen as it seems to have the knack of luring visitors back year after year and for good reason. If you become bored of the beach you won’t be bored elsewhere as there are also a number of affordable boat trips that you can take locally as well. These range from a trip on the glass bottomed boat which runs along the coast of the resort, to dolphin spotting trips too, and if you are lucky even whales.
Also situated just fifteen minutes north of Lanzarote´s international airport at Arrecife Costa Teguise is an excellent choice. It was initially designed as the island’s upmarket resort and during the 1980´s it proved very successful at attracting more affluent visitors from Germany, Sweden and Denmark.
If you are planning to visit the Canaries on a summer vacation or even a winter break Lanzarote is the ideal destination for you.
